Close voicings for the strings and piano, and an optional part for a vocal ensemble or choir are included in this arrangement. It would be possible to play this with just the top 3 strings and piano, but the 4th voice, (cello) adds the defining colors to the chords (9ths, 11ths, 13ths, etc.) Washington players love the string effects of this setting - and some vocal groups as well as choirs have enjoyed adding to the textures of this music. The arrangement can also be played as a solo for violin and piano. This was created for the ministries of professional players in the Washington military band units. Good student ensembles have also used this setting effectively.
