This solo has been the concert finale for professional and college soloists who have an itinerant concert ministry. Players from the Washington Service Bands have included this setting in their ministries for years. The excellent player will push the tempos as far as possible on some of the passages of this arrangement. There is an open section near the end which permits the player to insert a great improvised cadenza if desired. Accomplished students have mastered this music, and some have used it in national music competitions.
