Doxology: Old Hundredth is based on the famous text "Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow" which is in turn based upon Psalm 150:1. This most beloved benediction is enhanced in this arrangement by using the String Quartet playing pizzicato accents of "bell sounds" to simulate church bells and then cleverly slipping into the legato presentation of this famous tune only to return at the end of the piece to the church bells as if to close the church service. Reverent, timely and worshipful, this benediction is an excellent addition to any library.
