As with all of Mr. Ross' arrangements, many different performance alternatives and combinations are indicated, including verses for organ alone, brass alone, or even voices a cappella. The fourth verse features a descant for high voices, and complete, separate parts for the choir are included which conform to the standard words and music found in most hymnals. This arrangement is easily playable by high-school level players and up. For that often hard-to-find "middle hymn" for a Christmas eve or Lessons & Carols services, this composition will be sure to fit the bill.
