A beautiful selection for Easter, Lent, communion, or general meditative prelude while including substitute parts that permit many combinations of instruments to play the setting. This is a traditional brass quintet, but also works for mixed brass 5 part ensembles or groups of brass and saxes combined. Part 1 is for Bb trumpet, part 2 for Bb trumpet or alto sax, part 3 for F horn, or Bb trumpet, or alto sax, part 4 for trombone, or tenor sax, and part 5 can be played by tuba, trombone, or bass trombone. The piano accompaniment is essential to the harmonies of this setting - and adds additional colors to the music. This was arranged for use by professional military band players for their ministries in the Washington area, but is not difficult except for the range of the 1st trumpet in a short section. Good student ensembles have played or recorded this setting successfully.
