Handbell impressionism? It works here, in Allan Robert Petker's setting of "Be Thou My Vision," a wonderfully evocative rendition of the Irish ballad. From the opening arhythmic passages through the cloudy chords of the melodic statement, this lovely work moves unexpectedly to a syncopated underlay of the trilled melody. A beautiful finish makes this an excellent selection for worship.
